Press Release: Montana State Billings Welcomes Kyla Momberg to Women’s Basketball Program
BILLINGS, MT — The Montana State University Billings women’s basketball team proudly announces the addition of former Box Elder standout Kyla Momberg to its roster. The 5-foot-8 guard is transferring from Montana Western, where she played for three successful seasons.
Head coach Kevin Woodin expressed enthusiasm about Momberg’s arrival, stating, “Kyla’s skill set will provide our team added depth on the perimeter. Her impressive fundamentals and ability to read the game will significantly benefit our squad. We are excited to work with her this fall.”
During her tenure at Montana Western, Momberg participated in 70 games, starting in 32 of them. She averaged 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. A notable graduate of Box Elder, Momberg was instrumental in leading the Bears to a Class C state championship in 2019 and has earned all-conference and all-state honors on two occasions.
Momberg expressed her eagerness for this new chapter in her basketball career, highlighting MSUB’s welcoming atmosphere and strong program. “The coaching staff at MSUB were very welcoming. The family culture and successful program they have made it an easy decision. I knew this would be a special place to continue my journey,” she said.
As the Yellowjackets prepare for the upcoming season, the addition of Kyla Momberg is expected to bolster the team’s performance and enhance its competitive edge on the court.
