Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks are asking the public for information regarding a whitetail buck that was shot and wasted on private land near Billings. The buck was found dead with only the head removed before the start of the general rifle hunting season for deer. Game wardens responded to the report on Oct. 23 and are now seeking any leads on the incident. The public can report information by calling 406-860-7805 or visiting tipmont.mt.gov, with the possibility of a reward of up to $1,000 for valuable tips. Wasting any part of a game animal suitable for food is prohibited, and the authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help solve this case.
