Missoula Marathon and Community Highlights
This summer, Missoula will again host its celebrated marathon, attracting over 7,500 runners and walkers from around the globe. With over half of the participants coming from outside the U.S., last year’s event generated more than $4 million, underscoring its significance to the local economy.
In addition to the marathon, Missoula recently witnessed the Shrine game, where the West team secured its fifth consecutive victory against the East. Notably, Bridger Smith, a wide receiver from Glacier High School who faced numerous challenges growing up, will continue his athletic journey at the University of Montana.
Meanwhile, the Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce has received a pivotal grant to aid local businesses in accessing affordable child care. Collaborating with the Roots to Rise Collective and supported by Zero to Five Montana, the initiative addresses a pressing workforce issue in the region—ensuring high-quality, accessible child care services. This initiative is crucial as child care has become a key focus in state political discussions.
As these events unfold, Missoula continues to thrive as a vibrant center for community engagement, sports, and economic development.
