AWARE Inc. and Western Montana Mental Health Center to Merge, Enhancing Behavioral Health Services
MISSOULA, Mont. – In a significant move to improve mental health care access in Montana, AWARE Inc. and the Western Montana Mental Health Center have announced their merger. The collaboration aims to bolster services, especially for rural communities facing critical shortages of behavioral health resources.
AWARE Inc. CEO Matt Bugni highlighted the merger’s potential to streamline operations and enhance service delivery, noting, "We’re competing for limited resources at local, state, and federal levels. This merger allows us to leapfrog a decade ahead in care accessibility." The combined entity, which will retain the AWARE name, is set to serve around 12,000 clients statewide.
Bob Lopp, CEO of the Western Montana Mental Health Center, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the efficiencies and improved data insights that will arise from the partnership. Both organizations assured clients and staff that existing locations will remain open and operational during the transition with minimal disruptions.
The merger is anticipated to be finalized by fall, marking a promising development in Montana’s behavioral health landscape and underscoring the commitment to better serve the state’s mental health needs.
