Montana Shakespeare in the Parks Launches 53rd Season with Timeless Classics
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks is back for its 53rd season, bringing free outdoor performances to communities across five states. This year, audiences can look forward to the beloved comedies "As You Like It" and the historic drama "Henry V."
"As You Like It," set to open on June 11 at Montana State University, emphasizes the significance of nature, while "Henry V," debuting on June 18, serves as a tribute to Montana’s veterans. Executive Artistic Director Kevin Asselin highlighted the event’s communal spirit, noting that, while Shakespeare’s works are the focal point, the experience centers around fostering cultural engagement and appreciation for Montana’s stunning landscapes.
Approximately 55 artists and actors are involved, traveling across 65 different communities following the initial performances in Bozeman. The festival promises to deliver not just iconic theatre but a celebration of the arts that unites audiences and highlights nature’s beauty.
Performances of "As You Like It" run from June 11-14, with "Henry V" following from June 18-21. For more details and the full schedule, visit Shakespeare in the Parks.
