Missoula to Welcome Its First Hospice Center in July

Title: Missoula Welcomes First Dedicated Hospice Center, Hope Hospice

Missoula, MT — After years of planning, Missoula’s first dedicated hospice center, Hope Hospice Center, is set to open its doors to patients in July. The center, located at 3615 Union Pacific Street, aims to serve Montana’s aging population, providing essential inpatient hospice services to those in need. Its establishment was spearheaded by the Partners Hope Foundation, which raised $15 million through community donations, highlighting strong local support.

During a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, executive director Amanda Yeoman Melro emphasized the center’s mission to assist individuals with limited resources, particularly those living solo or in rural areas. The 15,200-square-foot facility features 12 private rooms and space for cultural sensitivity in end-of-life care, including areas for spiritual and ceremonial practices.

In staffing news, Partners in Home Care will employ 20 professionals, including nurses and social workers. The center aims to alleviate hospital congestion by offering residential and respite care, while a sliding-scale fee structure, supported by a compassion fund, ensures accessibility for all.

Hope Hospice, the second of its kind in Montana, stands as a testament to community-driven healthcare solutions, addressing critical end-of-life needs for residents statewide.
