Tommy Lewis Commits to Montana State Football Program
Havre, MT – Rising senior Tommy Lewis has officially committed to the Montana State football program, announcing his decision on social media over the weekend. The promising 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman is the third known recruit to join the Bobcats for the 2026 cycle, alongside quarterback Jackson Presley of Kalispell Glacier and offensive lineman Gavin Wilkins from Servite High School in California.
Ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 3 recruit in Montana’s Class of 2026 by 247Sports, Lewis has dreamed of playing Division I football since childhood. "It’s been a lifelong dream to play D-I football," he stated. The thrilling prospect of competing in the iconic Cat-Griz game, significant to Montana’s sports culture, particularly fueled his passion for joining one of the state’s rival schools. He had received offers from Montana Grizzlies and interest from several programs, including those in the Mountain West Conference and the University of Washington.
Lewis expressed that his commitment is heavily influenced by the "Montana made" culture at MSU, as well as his strong relationships with head coach Brent Vigen and offensive line coach Matt Smith. "It felt right," he noted, reflecting on the emotional connection he has to the program.
In addition to football, Lewis excels in wrestling, baseball, and track and field, boasting a stellar 4.0 GPA. He currently serves as vice president of his student body and is a member of the honor society. Lewis has been instrumental in leading the Havre football team to winning records over the past three seasons, including an 8-4 record in 2024. As he prepares to play offensive tackle this fall for the Blue Ponies, he anticipates a transition to guard or center with the Bobcats, a fit he believes aligns with the team’s scheme.
"I’m pumped," Lewis said, expressing eagerness to start his collegiate career.
