Families Invited to Kick Off Summer at Great Falls Family Fishing Day
Great Falls, MT — Families are encouraged to dive into summer with the Great Falls Family Fishing Day on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at Wadsworth Pond Park. Hosted by Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, this popular event is noted as the largest fishing clinic in the state.
Participants can look forward to hands-on educational stations covering fishing basics, including fish identification, knot tying, casting, and fly tying. After completing the stations, youth attendees can receive free fishing tackle (while supplies last), courtesy of the Great Falls Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited.
In a special offering, both youth and adults can continue fishing at Wadsworth Pond until sunset without needing a fishing license, thanks to an educational license exemption from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.
This initiative highlights a collaborative effort to promote outdoor skills and community engagement, supported by various local organizations including Montana Walleyes Unlimited and the City of Great Falls Parks and Recreation Department. In case of bad weather, updates regarding potential cancellations will be available on the FWP Facebook page. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the great outdoors!
