Montana Grizzlies Players Receive NFL Minicamp Invites
MISSOULA — Three standout Montana Grizzlies football players are seizing the opportunity to showcase their talent at the professional level following their significant contributions to the team. AJ Forbes, Nash Fouch, and Travis Benham all received invites to NFL rookie minicamps this week.
Forbes, a senior captain and lineman, will join the Seattle Seahawks. Throughout his collegiate career, he started 42 out of 43 games since the spring 2021 season and earned All-Big Sky second-team honors in 2023. Initially overlooked for his size at Nebraska, Forbes found success at Montana, where he solidified his role on the team.
Nash Fouch, a safety known for his durability and resilience, heads to the New York Giants’ camp. Fouch played in all 57 games since 2019, starting 37 times. He concluded his Griz career with impressive stats, including 184 tackles and four interceptions, proving instrumental in Montana’s defensive lineup.
Travis Benham, a punter who showcased his skills over various teams in his six-year career, will attend the New York Jets’ minicamp. At Montana, he averaged 40.4 yards on 67 punts, with six exceeding 50 yards. He ranked best in the Big Sky for placing 26 punts inside the 20-yard line, further solidifying his specialized role.
The trio participated in Montana’s Pro Day earlier this month, attracting attention from NFL and CFL scouts. Meanwhile, Montana football is also making strides in recruiting, receiving commitments from Jake Mason and Christian Lorenzo, bolstering their roster for future seasons.
As they embark on their professional journeys, the Grizzlies aim to carry their successful legacy into the NFL.
