Eastern Regions Brace for Rain and Cooler Temperatures | Montana Local Weather

Significant Weather Shift Expected Across Montana

MONTANA – A notable weather change is set to impact Montana, bringing cooler temperatures and rain through today and tomorrow, primarily affecting areas along and east of the Continental Divide. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Beartooth Highway, which anticipates between 2 to 4 inches of snow.

By 10:00 a.m. today, rain is expected to redevelop from Havre to Billings and extend eastward to the North Dakota border. Showers will likely reach Kalispell and Great Falls by around 3:00 p.m. While the eastern regions of Montana may experience a brief dry spell due to high pressure, instability could result in additional showers tomorrow. Rainfall estimates suggest up to one inch in Livingston and Lewistown, with lesser amounts predicted for Billings, Glendive, and Cody. Missoula and Kalispell are expected to see minimal rain.

Temperatures are forecasted to drop, with highs around 58 in Great Falls and 60 in Billings and Bozeman. A warming trend is anticipated later this week, likely bringing temperatures into the 80s by the weekend. Travelers on the Beartooth Highway are advised to prepare for snowy conditions.
