Body of Missing Montana Man Found in Idaho River

MISSOULA, ID – The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office announced the recovery of a body belonging to 68-year-old Robert Jeffrey Howe, who had been missing since May 28. Howe was reported missing near the Wilderness Gateway Campground along Highway 12. His body was located on Saturday afternoon in the Lochsa River, approximately two miles from the campground, with the aid of a drone during aerial search efforts.

A collaborative search effort involved multiple agencies, including Two Bear Air and the U.S. Forest Service, to locate Howe after he was reported missing. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear as authorities continue their investigation.
