Pangea Restaurant in Missoula Re-launches with New Executive Chef

MISSOULA, Mont. – Pangea, a beloved dining spot in Downtown Missoula, is re-launching with renewed energy just in time for the summer season. The restaurant welcomes Brandon Cunningham, a two-time James Beard Award finalist, as its new executive chef. Cunningham expressed his eagerness to connect with the Missoula community, stating, “I’m looking forward to really connecting with the people of Missoula.”

This summer, he will also represent Montana at the prestigious James Beard Awards in Chicago. Chef Cunningham aims to familiarize himself with the local culture while enhancing Pangea’s culinary offerings.

Kyle Riggs, Beverage Director at Pangea Restaurant Group, highlighted the significance of bringing a James Beard-nominated chef to Missoula, marking a first for the region. Riggs noted the excitement around Cunningham’s arrival, calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

With the re-launch, Pangea will unveil a revamped menu and will resume operations seven days a week, aligning with the surge of tourists and summer activities in the area. Riggs emphasized, “It’s a great time to showcase Missoula and us within it.”
