United Way’s Celebrity Scoopers Fundraiser Returns with a New Twist
WHEELING, WV — The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley is set to sweeten the summer with the return of its beloved Celebrity Scoopers fundraiser, which now takes to the road to serve delicious ice cream while raising funds for local families in need.
This year, the event will feature well-known community figures scooping ice cream at various locations throughout the Ohio Valley. Mark your calendars for the following dates and venues:
- June 3: Flurry’s Ice Cream and Sweets, Moundsville (Noon – 3 PM)
- June 5: Fun in the Ville with Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream, Barnesville (4 – 7 PM)
- June 13: Stalder’s Family Creamery, New Martinsville (6 – 8 PM)
- June 18-20: Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream, St. Clairsville (1 – 4 PM)
- June 27: In front of Waterfront Hall, Wheeling (Noon – 3 PM)
Executive Director Staci Stephen emphasized the importance of each scoop served in building stronger communities, underscoring the collaboration with local businesses and leaders dedicated to the Ohio Valley.
This year’s event is made possible through generous sponsorships from Visit Wheeling, Edward Jones, and other local businesses, which highlight the community’s commitment to supporting its residents.
Proceeds from the Celebrity Scoopers fundraiser will directly benefit the United Way’s ongoing efforts to fund critical programs that improve lives across the region, supporting 30 initiatives and advocating for nonprofit organizations.
