Tragic Accident on I-94 Claims Life of Canadian Woman
Hathaway, MT – A tragic late-night crash on Interstate 94 has resulted in the death of a 22-year-old woman from Regina, Saskatchewan, and left her passenger from California injured. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:30 PM near mile marker 113.
The female driver was operating a Kia Sportage when the vehicle drifted off the highway. After steering back onto the road, the car rolled over and came to a stop in the median. Officials reported that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
The passenger, also 22, hails from California City, California. She was taken to Rosebud Health Center, although her condition has not been disclosed. Authorities have indicated that it remains unclear whether she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and is exploring drug use as a possible contributing factor.
