AWARE Inc. and Western Montana Mental Health Center to Merge
MISSOULA, Mont. – In a significant move to enhance behavioral health services in Montana, AWARE Inc. and Western Montana Mental Health Center have announced their impending merger. This collaboration comes as a response to the competition for limited resources, including local and state funding, as noted by AWARE CEO Matt Bugni.
The merger, which will see the two organizations operate under the AWARE name, aims to bolster access to care and expand the array of services offered. Bugni highlighted the similarities in service offerings, including mental health case management, psychiatry, and therapy, while also emphasizing that the Western Montana Mental Health Center brings valuable government experience and expertise in substance use treatment.
The integration is expected to increase AWARE’s capacity, ultimately allowing them to better meet the community’s growing needs. Bugni reassured current patients that there would be no change in their providers. The merger promises to create new job opportunities as the organizations stabilize operations and merge cultures.
