Hunter Loesch Commits to Montana Grizzlies Track and Field Program
Missoula, MT – In a significant boost for the University of Montana’s track and field team, high school standout Hunter Loesch from Corvallis has announced his commitment to join the Grizzlies. This announcement was made via social media on Friday when the team acknowledged Loesch as the nation’s top-ranked high school javelin thrower.
Loesch recently achieved an impressive throw of 214 feet, 8 inches during the Corvallis Quadrangular on May 2, securing his position at the pinnacle of high school javelin performance in the United States. This remarkable feat surpassed the previous high mark of 213 feet, 3 inches set by Bryson Jacobs of Adrian, Missouri. Prior to this achievement, Loesch had already established a personal best of 204 feet, 4 inches at the Hamilton Invitational on April 4, showcasing his ability to consistently throw over the 200-foot mark throughout the season.
As a senior, Loesch is determined to capture his first state javelin title after finishing third in his sophomore year and second last year. His continued development and record-setting throws suggest a promising future in collegiate athletics.
