Graduation Weekend Celebrated Across Montana’s Colleges

MISSOULA, Mont. — Graduation weekend is in full swing for Montana’s college students, with multiple ceremonies taking place at various institutions. Montana State University (MSU) will host its 142nd spring commencement on Friday at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, handing out 2,465 degrees, including 1,888 undergraduate and 401 graduate diplomas. The morning ceremony starts at 10 a.m., featuring honorary doctorate recipient Morton Meyerson, a former tech CEO. The afternoon session, at 2:30 p.m., honors MSU alumna and Apsaalooke artist Wendy Jean Red Star.

The University of Montana (UM) will celebrate over 1,800 graduates in ceremonies on Saturday at the Adams Center. Notably, New York Times bestselling author Steve Rinella and former Nike COO Eric Sprunk will receive honorary doctorates.

Montana Tech will also be celebrating its graduates on Saturday, presenting approximately 374 degrees during two ceremonies at the HPER Complex, with alumnus Ryan Lance as the speaker. Additionally, Montana Western will hold its 128th annual commencement ceremony at Bulldog Stadium, recognizing students completing their degrees in spring 2025.

This weekend marks a significant milestone for students across the state, celebrating their hard work and accomplishments.
