TDEM Announces Sam Miller as New Chief of Operations Technology
The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has promoted Sam Miller to Division Chief of Operations Technology, a pivotal role in enhancing the agency’s disaster response capabilities. Miller has been with TDEM since 2013, where he has significantly contributed to advancements in operations technology over the past decade. His leadership has been instrumental in developing applications, providing field technology support, and implementing critical systems for disaster management across Texas.
“Sam’s deep expertise and steady leadership have helped modernize how we respond to disasters in Texas,” said TDEM Chief Nim Kidd. “His commitment to public service and innovation has driven many of our agency’s successes. We’re proud to have him leading this critical division.”
Before joining TDEM, Miller worked as a developer for the Southwest Regional Advisory Council under the Texas WebEOC Interoperability Project and held various positions at the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management. With over 20 years of experience in emergency management, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong dedication to public service.
In addition to Miller’s promotion, TDEM announced the elevation of Dorian Davis to Section Chief of Operations Technology. Previously the Unit Chief of Operations Technology, Davis joined TDEM in 2014 and has been vital in enhancing the agency’s operational readiness through his deep institutional knowledge and expertise.
As TDEM continues to adapt to the evolving challenges of emergency management, the appointments of Miller and Davis underscore the agency’s commitment to innovation and effective disaster response in Texas.
