Seth Amunrud Joins Montana State Men’s Basketball Team
BOZEMAN — Seth Amunrud, a standout from Manhattan Christian High School and NJCAA second-team All-American at Dawson Community College (DCC), has officially committed to the Montana State men’s basketball program, a decision he announced on social media Monday.
Amunrud, a 6-foot-4 guard originally from Bozeman, boasts an impressive athletic career, highlighted by being a two-time Class C state champion at Manhattan Christian. Over the past two seasons at DCC, he demonstrated exceptional skill, averaging 13.7 points per game as a freshman and elevating his performance to 21.1 points in his sophomore year. During his tenure, he was instrumental in propelling the Buccaneers to a 25-7 record in his first season and an impressive 29-4 in his second, with both years advancing into postseason play.
Statistically, Amunrud’s sophomore scoring average ranked third in the Mon-Dak Conference and 16th nationally in the NJCAA Division I. His shooting percentage was remarkable — 55.2% from the field, and an impressive 46.8% from three-point range, alongside a standout free throw percentage of 88.7%.
Originally committed to the University of Denver last November, Amunrud reopened his recruitment after a coaching change at the institution in March. Fulfilling a "lifelong dream" to play for his hometown school, he expressed excitement on social media about joining Montana State, which continues to enrich its basketball program.
