Grizzlies Strengthen Offensive Line with New Transfers
MISSOULA — The Montana football team has bolstered its offensive line with the recent additions of two transfer players, Patrick Matan from NC State and Dylan Jemtegaard from Cal. Both players, who are grad transfers with one year of eligibility left, committed to the Grizzlies within days of each other this week.
Matan, a 6-foot-4, 302-pound lineman, appeared in 37 games over five seasons with the Wolfpack, primarily contributing on special teams and serving as a backup offensive lineman. His experience includes nine games in 2022, following a redshirt year in 2020. Having played under NC State coach Dave Doeren, who once coached defensive backs at Montana, Matan brings both size and experience to the Grizzlies’ offensive front.
Jemtegaard, listed at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, made six appearances with the Golden Bears, focusing mainly on special teams and as a reserve offensive lineman during the 2023 season. He redshirted in 2021 and did not see action in 2022 or 2024, highlighting his determination to make a significant impact this upcoming season.
Expressing excitement over his transfer, Jemtegaard shared on social media, “My official visit to Missoula was truly unforgettable. The people, the culture, and the atmosphere made it feel like home from the very beginning."
Together, Matan and Jemtegaard join a growing roster of transfer players, including Kennesaw State wide receiver Blake Bohannon and Portland State linebacker Peyton Wing, as the Grizzlies aim to elevate their competitive edge following the conclusion of spring camp.
