Maribeth Ault Named Montana’s First Female Wildlife Officer of the Year
Helena, MT — Maribeth Ault has made history as the recipient of the Shikar Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year Award for Montana, becoming the first woman to achieve this honor. The award, presented by Lt. Governor Kristen Juras and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Director Christ Clark, recognizes exemplary wildlife law enforcement officers across the nation.
Ault, who has served as a game warden for four and a half years, expressed her gratitude upon receiving the award, emphasizing the collective effort of her colleagues. "It is an honor to receive the award; everyone I work with is equally deserving, and I did not get here by myself," she stated.
The surprise presentation was attended by fellow wardens and Ault’s family, who traveled from Pennsylvania to celebrate her achievement. “I’m very surprised and very honored to be here and share it with all my coworkers as well as my family," she added. Ault’s dedication to wildlife enforcement is matched by her passion for hunting and fishing, underscoring her commitment to conservation efforts in Montana. She will also be considered for national recognition for this prestigious award.
