Tim Montana Honored with 2025 Tourism Award for Promoting Montana Culture
Helena, MT – Renowned musician Tim Montana, raised in a single-wide trailer in Elk Park, has been awarded the 2025 tourism award for Excellence in Cinema and Cultural Heritage by the Montana Department of Commerce. Graduating from Butte High School in 2003, Montana later ventured into the Nashville music scene before returning to his roots. In August 2023, he partnered with fellow musician Billy F Gibbons to purchase the Wise River Club, reaffirming his commitment to the region.
Montana’s dedication to his home state shines through his music videos, which prominently feature local landscapes and communities. His recent video, “American Thread,” celebrates blue-collar America while showcasing workers from the Montana Resources mine and local emergency responders in Butte.
At the award ceremony, Montana expressed his gratitude, becoming emotional when his 4-year-old daughter jumped into his arms. He has amassed over 10 million views on social media for his projects filmed in Montana, solidifying his status as a cultural ambassador for the state. Last year’s recipient of the award was acclaimed actress Lily Gladstone, who hails from the Blackfeet Reservation.
