Montana Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input on I-90 Resurfacing Project
LODGE GRASS, Mont. – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is inviting public feedback on a proposed resurfacing project along Interstate 90, stretching approximately 11 miles from south of Lodge Grass to the Montana-Wyoming state line. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2028, with potential for earlier commencement if funding allows.
Planned improvements include crack and chip sealing, pavement markings, and essential bridge repairs at the Wyola and Aberdeen Interchange bridges, ensuring the longevity of both the asphalt and the bridge decks. Furthermore, MDT has confirmed that no new right-of-way or utility relocations will be necessary for the project.
MDT encourages community engagement, welcoming thoughts and comments, which can be submitted online or via mail to the MDT Billings office. For inquiries, Project Design Engineer Jacob Brotzler can be reached at 406-657-0266, while Billings District Preconstruction Engineer Kurtis Schnieber is available at 406-657-0269.
Further details about MDT initiatives, including the five-year construction plan, can be found on their website. MDT remains dedicated to maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system throughout Montana.
