Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks to Host Public Meetings for Judith Landing State Park Planning
MISSOULA, Mont. — In May, Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP) will conduct a series of public meetings to engage the community in the planning of the newly acquired Judith Landing State Park. Acquired in February 2025, the 109-acre park is located at the confluence of the Judith and Missouri Rivers in north-central Montana.
The open-house meetings, scheduled for Big Sandy, Winifred, Lewistown, and Fort Benton, will allow attendees to drop in anytime between 5 to 7 p.m. Participants can explore various information stations focused on park developments, cultural resources, and the area’s natural wildlife. FWP staff will be available for discussions and to gather public input.
Cannon Colegrove, FWP recreation manager, emphasized the importance of community involvement, inviting everyone interested in outdoor recreation and heritage values to share their visions for the park. This initiative aims to ensure that the new state park effectively serves visitors and the local community.
