Montana State Kicker Kai Golan Enters Transfer Portal
BOZEMAN, MT — Montana State University kicker Kai Golan has officially entered the transfer portal, as announced on Tuesday. The 2024 graduate of Columbia Falls High School expressed gratitude towards his coaches and teammates while making the announcement on social media, stating he retains four seasons of college eligibility.
Golan participated in the MSU football program during the fall camp of 2024 but did not make the season’s roster. However, he rejoined the team for the recently completed spring camp. Despite his efforts, he found himself overshadowed by rising redshirt junior Myles Sansted, who held the starting kicker position in the previous season. Additionally, the Bobcats have introduced Michael Rubich, a senior kicker from Rock Springs, Wyoming, as a preferred walk-on earlier this year to further bolster their kicking unit.
In recent weeks, Montana State has seen several players exit the program through the transfer portal, including reserve wide receiver Zachary Dodson-Greene and defensive lineman Ryder Trujillo.
As the Bobcats prepare for the upcoming season, Golan’s departure adds to the dynamic changes within the team. With his potential and four years of eligibility ahead, his future at another program remains promising.
