Montana State Men’s Basketball Welcomes Chris Hodges from Wisconsin
BOZEMAN – The Montana State University (MSU) men’s basketball team has bolstered its roster with the addition of 6-foot-9 forward Chris Hodges, a graduate transfer from the University of Wisconsin. Head coach Matt Logie announced Hodges’ signing on Tuesday, expressing optimism about his impact on the team.
"Chris Hodges will be an excellent addition to our Bobcat basketball family," Logie stated. With four years of experience in the competitive Big Ten conference, Hodges brings both size and athleticism to MSU’s frontcourt. Logie highlighted Hodges’ maturity, leadership, and positive attitude as key attributes that will benefit the team’s culture.
During his tenure at Wisconsin, Hodges played in 40 games, contributing to a successful Badgers squad that posted a 27-10 record last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. Though his individual stats include four points and nine rebounds, his experience in high-pressure situations has equipped him with valuable insights into winning at a high level.
Hodges’ last appearance for Wisconsin was during their NCAA Tournament matchup, where they defeated Montana 85-66. Notably, he did not participate in a previous contest against MSU in November 2023, which the Bobcats lost. Recognized for his sportsmanship, Hodges received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, showcasing his commitment not just to the game but to positive team dynamics.
Hodges is the fifth player to join MSU via the transfer portal for the upcoming 2025-2026 season, following guards Davian Brown and Cavin Holden, as well as forwards Christian King and Jaden Steppe. As he transitions to the Bobcats, Hodges is expected to leverage his winning experience to enhance MSU’s competitive edge in the upcoming season.
