Former MSU Kicker Brendan Hall Invited to NFL Minicamp by Green Bay Packers
BOZEMAN, MT — Brendan Hall, the former kicker and punter for Montana State University, has received an invitation to participate in the Green Bay Packers’ NFL rookie minicamp, as announced by MSU on Sunday. Hall’s selection marks him as the second former Bobcat to secure a minicamp opportunity from an NFC North team following the NFL draft, joining defensive end Brody Grebe, who was invited by the Minnesota Vikings.
Currently, several former MSU players are making their mark in the NFL: linebacker Troy Andersen plays for the Atlanta Falcons, LB/edge rusher Daniel Hardy is with the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Lance McCutcheon joins the Pittsburgh Steelers, defensive back Ty Okada is with the Seattle Seahawks, and linebacker Alex Singleton plays for the Denver Broncos.
Hall, who transferred to Montana State from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2023, showcased his versatility during his time with the Bobcats. He managed punting, placekicking, and kickoff responsibilities during the first eight games of the season. Although he faced some challenges with placekicking, leading to a change in that role, he excelled as a punter, receiving All-America and All-Big Sky Conference first-team honors in 2023. Additionally, he was named to the All-Big Sky second team in the previous season and notably led the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in kickoff touchbacks for both years.
Hall’s journey reflects the continued success of MSU athletes making strides in professional football, reinforcing the university’s reputation as a breeding ground for NFL talent.
