Polling data reveals increasing support among Republicans for the MAGA movement

Recent polling from NBC News shows that as President Donald Trump approaches the 100-day mark of his second term, he has successfully consolidated the Republican Party around himself and his “Make America Great Again” movement. Thirty-six percent of registered voters now identify as MAGA supporters, a significant increase from previous polling. The shift towards the MAGA movement is driven by a rise in Republican support, with 71% of Republicans now calling themselves MAGA supporters.

This consolidation around Trump is evident in polling data from the 2024 presidential primary to Election Day, with the percentage of registered voters aligning with the MAGA movement increasing from 20% to 29%. Among Republicans, there has been a 16-point increase in support for the MAGA movement between the 2024 election and March 2025 (55% to 71%). Similarly, there has been a 16-point increase among college-educated men, from 21% to 37%.

Despite this growth in support, Trump’s approval rating remains at 47%, matching his best-ever rating, while 51% of registered voters still disapprove of his job performance. The shift towards the MAGA movement is primarily driven by Republicans, with 40% of GOPers now identifying as MAGA supporters, up from 71% in just 14 months.

The NBC News poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters in March, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
