In an exciting match at the Peak Racquet Club, the Montana women’s tennis team pulled off an upset over Montana State with a 4-3 victory. The Grizzlies, led by freshmen Olivia Moir and Kate Prichard, clinched the win after trailing for most of the dual meet. This marked the third consecutive win for Montana over Montana State in the annual Brawl of the Wild dual.

Coach Steve Ascher praised his team’s response to pressure and highlighted their discipline, composure, and bravery throughout the match. Despite starting behind with a loss in doubles, the Grizzlies fought back with strong performances in singles matches. Senior Grace Haugen and senior Rosie Sterk also secured important victories for Montana.

After nearly four hours of intense competition, Moir and Prichard delivered crucial three-set wins to seal the victory for the Grizzlies. The team now sets its sights on the final regular-season meet against Eastern Washington, with a chance to secure a spot in the Big Sky Tournament at the end of the month.
