Hellgate graduate Cam LaRance, a star basketball player, was gearing up for a great senior season when disaster struck – a torn patellar tendon. The injury required surgery and forced him to sit out the remainder of the season. LaRance’s recovery journey was guided by athletic trainer Trey Vincent, who helped former tech star Caleb Bellach recover from a similar injury. Vincent emphasized the importance of maintaining morale and dedication during the healing process.
Despite the setback, LaRance remained determined and focused on returning to the court stronger than ever. With Vincent’s assistance, he gradually increased his physical activity and aimed to be cleared for basketball by the end of August. LaRance’s ultimate goal is to help his team secure a fifth consecutive Frontier Conference championship.
Vincent highlighted the importance of regular check-ins with athletic trainers for both high school and college athletes to prevent injuries and perform at their best. The collaboration between St. James Hospital and Montana Tech provided essential support in LaRance’s recovery journey. Fans can look forward to seeing LaRance back in action next season as he aims to continue his winning legacy on the court.
