2024 Montana Election Guide

The 2024 general election in Montana is set for November 5, 2024. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, with sample ballots available during the federal primary and general elections. Eligible voters can register by completing a voter registration application and returning it to the county election administrator. Late registration is available 30 days before the election.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to registered absentee voters on October 11th, and voters can track their ballot online. Voter identification is required at polling places, with options including a valid driver’s license, state identification card, or other acceptable forms of ID.

Three ballot issues will be presented to Montana voters, addressing top-four primary elections, majority vote determinations for certain offices, and a constitutional right to make decisions about pregnancy. Numerous candidates are running for various positions, including U.S. President, U.S. Senate, Governor, and other state offices.

The Montana Secretary Of State website offers information on registering to vote, absentee voting, voter identification, candidate details, ballot issues, and more. Voters are encouraged to stay informed and participate in the upcoming election.
