Bestselling author Jillian Lauren Shriner was accused of firing at police officers in her Los Angeles neighborhood as they searched for hit-and-run suspects. The investigation revealed that she ignored commands to disarm and fired her weapon, leading to her being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and charged with attempted murder. The incident occurred after three hit-and-run suspects ran into the residential area near her home. Shriner, who is married to Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, did not respond to requests for comment. The band is scheduled to play at the Coachella music festival, but it’s unclear if Scott Shriner will perform. The police department stated that Shriner was not involved in the hit-and-run and was in her backyard when she pointed her gun at officers. She was later taken into custody and a gun was found in her home. Only one suspect was found, cited, and released, while the other two were not located.
