Glasgow hires Lockwood’s athletic director Mike Erickson as new AD

Glasgow High School is welcoming Mike Erickson as their new activities director, as announced by school superintendent Brenner Flaten. Erickson, who previously served as the athletic director at Lockwood High School for five years, has been praised for his work in developing the athletic programs at Lockwood, particularly the success of the boys and girls basketball teams.

During his time at Lockwood, Erickson oversaw various tournaments and events, including district and divisional basketball and volleyball tournaments. He also played a key role in hosting prestigious events like the Midland Roundtable’s Montana-Wyoming all-star basketball series and the Montana East-West all-star volleyball match. Erickson, a native of Vida and a graduate of Circle High School, brings 18 years of athletic administration experience to his new role at Glasgow. He has earned recognition as the AD of the year in different capacities, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the field.

Aside from his work in athletic administration, Erickson is actively involved in Montana girls flag football, serving as a pseudo-commissioner to help grow and develop the sport. He is also an active member of the Montana Officials Association and regularly officiates basketball games. In his new role at Glasgow, Erickson will not only oversee K-12 activities but also lead the physical education department as the strength and conditioning coach. He is set to begin his new position in August, succeeding current Glasgow AD Dalton Reid.
