Tessman resigns as NMU President to head to Montana State | Latest Updates on News, Sports, and Job Opportunities


Northern Michigan University President, Brock Tessman, announced on Monday that he will be stepping down from his position on July 1 to become the president of Montana State University. Tessman, who has been NMU’s president since February 2023, will be leaving the university to take on a new role at MSU in Bozeman, Montana. During his time at NMU, Tessman oversaw an increase in enrollment and helped develop new mission and vision statements for the university. The NMU Board of Trustees praised Tessman for his leadership and positive impact on the university. The board will now begin the process of appointing an interim president and conducting a national search for a new president. Tessman officially begins his duties at Montana State on July 15. The NMU community expressed appreciation for Tessman’s contributions and wished him well in his new position. The university remains committed to providing a world-class learning environment for its students.
