Montana Football Team Loses Offensive Line Coach to Western Michigan
The Montana football team will have a new offensive line coach for the upcoming season as Joe Pawlak has left the Grizzlies after just one year to coach at Western Michigan. Pawlak, who had previously coached at North Dakota, helped produce two All-Big Sky offensive linemen during his tenure at Montana. Under his guidance, the Griz ranked fifth in scoring offense, sixth in total offense, fifth in rushing offense, and seventh in passing offense in the Big Sky.
Cameron Norcross has reportedly been hired to replace Pawlak as the offensive line coach for Montana. Norcross comes with experience coaching at various universities and most recently served as the O-line coach and run game coordinator at Kennesaw State. He has also coached at schools like UNLV, Vanderbilt, and Nevada and previously played O-line at Nevada.
Western Michigan head coach Lance Taylor expressed confidence in Pawlak’s ability to lead their offensive line and contribute to the team’s success at the FBS level in the Mid-American Conference. Pawlak’s departure marks the third offensive line coach change for the Grizzlies in as many seasons, with Chad Germer taking over at Eastern Washington. Despite the changes, Montana looks to build upon their success in the upcoming season with Norcross at the helm of the offensive line.
