At least 113 people died when the roof of a nightclub in the Dominican Republic collapsed, with 155 others transferred to local hospitals for treatment. Rescue efforts involving the Dominican navy and fire service are ongoing. The victims include two former MLB players, a governor, and popular merengue singer Rubby Pérez who was performing at the time of the disaster. Pérez’s body was recovered from the rubble.
