Protest Against Trump Scheduled for Bozeman | Billings News

Organizers in Bozeman, Montana will be participating in a nationwide “Hands Off!” rally on Saturday to protest attempts by the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to cut government agencies. The rally, organized by Indivisible Bozeman, will take place at the Gallatin County Courthouse from noon to 1 p.m. and will coincide with similar protests across the country.

Indivisible Bozeman seeks to resist the Trump agenda by promoting the message to keep hands off healthcare, Social Security, National Parks, public lands, schools, and freedom. In late March, the organization organized a protest at the public library to criticize Montana’s congressional delegation for not agreeing to a town hall meeting.

The group emphasizes that they are everyday Bozeman residents including volunteers, teachers, and park service workers who want their voices heard. The rally on Saturday is expected to be the largest single day of action since Donald Trump’s inauguration, with protests planned in every state including other Montana cities like Billings, Hamilton, Missoula, Gardiner, and Helena.

According to a press release from Indivisible Bozeman, the goal of the rally is to make it clear to elected officials that they need to stand with the people they represent. The group hopes to send a strong message and gain the attention of lawmakers by joining thousands of others across the country in this coordinated demonstration.
