The Montana Brewers Association recently hosted the second Montana Beer Awards in Helena, where 30 breweries received medals in 22 different beer categories. Bar 3 of Belgrade, Cranky Sam Brewing of Missoula, and MAP Brewing Company of Bozeman were awarded Small, Medium, and Large Brewery of the Year, respectively. A total of 49 breweries from 18 Montana communities participated in the competition, showcasing the state’s unique and thriving craft beer scene. In addition to traditional beer categories, the Community Impact Award was given to 406 Brewing Company for their efforts to enrich local communities. Steve “Bubs” Lozar of Polson was also recognized with the Montana Beer Champion Award for his significant contributions to the industry. The event featured various beer categories, with winners including Great Wave from MAP Brewing Co., Chasin’ Haze from Bridger Brewing, and Peaks to Prairie Session Pale from Katabatic Brewing Co. Overall, the Montana Beer Awards celebrated the outstanding work of breweries across the state and highlighted the growth and innovation within the craft beer industry in Montana.
