The University of Montana men’s basketball team has announced their first transfer commit for the 2025-26 season, Kadyn Betts. Betts, a former four-star recruit, played three seasons for the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Big Ten Conference as a reserve forward. Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 225 pounds, he brings two seasons of eligibility to the Grizzlies, having made 30 appearances off the bench at Minnesota without a start. Despite limited playing time, Betts received the Sportsmanship Award from the Big Ten in his last season.
Betts, who was redshirted as a true freshman and reclassified from a four-star to a three-star prospect, joins the Grizzlies after considering offers from other schools. In addition to Betts, sophomore guard Money Williams has announced his return for his junior season after being named the Big Sky’s top reserve and a second-team all-conference honoree. The team has also seen three players enter the transfer portal since last week.
The addition of Betts and Williams sets the stage for an exciting upcoming season for the Grizzlies as they look to build on their success from the previous year. With Betts’ potential as a former top recruit and Williams’ proven performance on the court, the team is poised for a strong showing in the 2025-26 season. Stay tuned for more updates on the Montana men’s basketball team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
