Unemployment in Montana drops to its lowest level since 2023


Montana’s unemployment rate has dropped below 3 percent, the lowest since 2024, with a rate of 2.8 percent. This is 1.2 percent lower than the national rate of 4 percent. The state added 200 jobs in sectors like construction, trade, and transportation, with a total job growth rate of 0.5 percent for the year 2024. The labor force also increased to a record high of 579,000, growing 0.8 percent over the past year.
