Hamilton, Montana celebrated the grand opening of a new VA Clinic on Friday, March 14, with a conference, ribbon cutting ceremony, and guided tours of the 8,000-square-foot facility. The clinic, located at 1331 North 1st Street, is a substantial upgrade from the previous location and offers specialized medical resources to Ravalli County veterans. Funding for the clinic was secured through the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2022, with support from Montana Senator Jon Tester. The new facility will provide services such as primary care, lab work, telehealth, mental health, audiology, and physical therapy. It aims to alleviate the strain on the previous clinic, which saw a significant increase in patients. The opening event saw a small protest against the recent cuts to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, with attendees thanking Senator Jon Tester for his support in the clinic’s construction. Visits to the new location can be scheduled through the VA website, with Congressman Ryan Zinke planning a visit on March 20.
