Local police in Missoula and Bozeman are increasing patrols over St. Patrick’s Day weekend to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. The initiative is part of a statewide effort to reduce impaired driving incidents that often occur during the holiday. Law enforcement officials will be out in full force from Friday through Tuesday, extending their patrols beyond the traditional weekend celebrations.
Funded by the Montana Department of Transportation’s Vision Zero program, the increased patrols are aimed at eliminating deaths and serious injuries on roadways. The focus is on keeping drivers safe and preventing accidents that may result from driving under the influence of alcohol.
Residents and visitors are urged to plan ahead and arrange for alternate transportation if they plan on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with alcohol. By taking proactive measures and being responsible, everyone can contribute to making the roads safer for all during this festive holiday weekend.
