Brian Holsinger announces departure from Lady Griz

Montana women’s basketball head coach Brian Holsinger has announced his decision to step away from the team, as confirmed by Grizzly Athletics. Associate head coach Nate Harris will take over the program in Holsinger’s absence. The University of Montana has stated that there are processes in place that need to be followed in situations like this, and more information will be shared when possible.

Holsinger had been with the team since April 2021, coming from Oregon State where he served as the associate head coach. During his time in Missoula, he achieved a record of 56-37. The team did not have a strong start to the 2024-25 season, with a 4-7 record in nonconference play and losing three of their first four Big Sky games.

Despite the coaching change, the Lady Griz are scheduled to play against Weber State on Thursday night at Robin Selvig Court at 7 p.m. Fans and supporters of the team will be watching closely to see how the team performs under the leadership of interim head coach Nate Harris. More updates on the situation are expected to be shared as the university’s processes unfold.
