The Montana Department of Labor and Industry recently held a rapid response job transition support event to help former federal employees who have been laid off. The event took place across 18 job service offices in Montana, providing resources and information to those impacted by a layoff. Crystal Armstrong, Deputy Administrator of the Workforce Services Division, emphasized the importance of getting information to affected individuals quickly. The event included assistance with unemployment insurance applications, job search tools, and guidance on marketing oneself to employers. Armstrong noted that there are over 650 job openings in the Helena area, with more than 300 jobs available at the State of Montana. For those unable to visit a job service office, online tools are also available to help individuals match their skills with job opportunities. The Montana DLI aims to support not only former federal employees but also anyone in the state seeking employment, making the job search process easier for all individuals.
