Dykstra’s Last-Second Shot Propels Cats into March Madness

Montana State secured a thrilling 58-57 victory over the University of Montana in the Big Sky Championship with a buzzer-beating tip-in by Marah Dykstra. The win marked the end of a historic season for the Bobcats, who dominated the regular season and tournament play. Dykstra’s game-winning shot, following a three-pointer by UM’s Dani Bartsch, sealed the victory and a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the Bobcats.

Coach Tricia Binford commended UM coach Nate Harris for his team’s strong performance and praised her players for their resilience in overcoming a slow start in the championship game. Esmeralda Morales, who was named Tournament MVP, led the Bobcats with 17 points in the crucial second quarter. Despite a late surge by UM, Dykstra’s heroics secured the win and a spot in the NCAA Tournament for Montana State.

The Bobcats will eagerly await their tournament fate as they look to continue their impressive season on the national stage. Fans can join the team in Worthington Arena on Sunday at 6 pm for the selection show.
