Montana State’s season comes to an end with the ejection of Matt Logie

In a disappointing turn of events, the Montana State men’s basketball team faced a tough loss to Northern Colorado in the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference tournament. Despite a strong start to the tournament, the Bobcats were unable to maintain their momentum against a formidable opponent. Northern Colorado dominated the game, holding Montana State to a 23.6% shooting percentage and ending their 10-game Big Sky tournament winning streak.

Head coach Matt Logie was ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls for arguing with the referees. Despite the challenging circumstances, the Bobcats showed resilience on the defensive end, holding Northern Colorado to only 29 points in the first half. However, their offensive struggles and inability to make shots ultimately led to their defeat.

Junior guard Bryce Zephir was the only Bobcat to reach double figures in scoring, highlighting the team’s offensive struggles throughout the game. The loss marks the end of a historic run for the Bobcats, who were aiming for a fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

As the team reflects on the season, they express pride in their accomplishments and the hard work of the senior players who have been instrumental in the program’s success. Moving forward, the Bobcats will look to build on their experiences and strive for future success under Coach Logie’s leadership.
