Montana State’s women’s basketball team is gearing up for the Big Sky Conference Tournament, set to begin on Sunday, March 9th. The Bobcats, who are currently 27-3 and captured the outright Big Sky title, will face the winner of Northern Colorado and Portland State. Esmeralda Morales was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, becoming the ninth Bobcat in history to earn this accolade.
The Bobcats have had an impressive season, ranking first in the nation for steals per game and third in turnover margin. Taylee Chirrick recorded a rare double-double with 11 steals in a single game. Montana State boasts the most wins in program history and owns the longest road-winning streak in the nation.
Coach Tricia Binford recently notched her 309th career win, making her the second-winningest coach in Big Sky history. Montana State has consistently ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll, despite dropping to No. 11 this week.
