Event for Laid Off Federal Employees to be Hosted by Montana Department of Labor and Industry

The Montana Department of Labor and Industry is hosting a statewide Rapid Response Event on March 12 for federal workers who have been laid off. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at all 18 MTDLI job service offices, providing assistance to help workers get back into the workforce. Services offered include helping workers apply for unemployment insurance benefits, conducting job searches, resume assistance, and other support resources. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide personalized support to each worker. Additionally, there is an option to participate remotely in the event.

Commissioner Sarah Swanson emphasized the importance of supporting workers through layoffs, stating that job loss is a turning point rather than the end of the road. The Montana Department of Labor and Industry is committed to helping workers successfully transition back into the workforce. In the past, MTDLI has introduced initiatives such as the Skills Matching Dashboard and the mining-specific Skills Matching Tool to assist workers affected by layoffs in certain industries. Workers impacted by recent layoffs are encouraged to attend the Rapid Response Event and utilize the resources available to them.
