Shepherd introduces girls flag football program for fall season

Shepherd High School in Billings, Montana, will be introducing girls flag football as a sport option for the 2025-26 school year. The decision to add this new sport was made after student interest was expressed to activities director Tina Downing. A survey conducted by students showed that 30 girls were interested in participating in girls flag football at Shepherd. Downing is currently in the process of hiring a head coach for the team and plans to hold an informational meeting after basketball tournaments are over. She hopes that adding girls flag football will provide more opportunities for students at Shepherd, especially those who are not currently involved in any other sports. The addition of this new sport is an exciting development for the school and is anticipated to bring a new level of excitement and participation to the athletics program.
