The Calgary Stampeders have announced the hiring of Dakota Prukop as the team’s new quarterbacks coach. Prukop, who recently retired after a seven-year playing career in the CFL, will be taking over for former head coach Beau Baldwin. General manager and head coach Dave Dickenson praised Prukop for his work ethic and knowledge of the game, stating that he will enhance the QB room.
Prukop played for various CFL teams during his career and attended training camp with the Stampeders in 2021. In his final season with the Edmonton Elks, he led the team with nine rushing touchdowns. Prior to his CFL career, Prukop played college football at Oregon and Montana State, where he had impressive stats and earned conference honors.
Expressing his excitement about joining the Stampeders, Prukop stated that he looks forward to working with the coaching staff and developing in his new role. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from the well-respected coaches in the CFL. The announcement of Prukop’s hiring comes as the Stampeders continue to prepare for the upcoming season.
